Havana, Aug 14 (PL) On the 93rd anniversary of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, ARTEX''s record company and music publisher, Bis Music, presented the documentary ''Besado por la patria'' on Tuesday.

The audiovisual was created in 2016 with the aim of documenting the creative process of the painting of two murals by Cuban plastic artists and became a project that also gathers the opinions of these creators about the Commander in Chief and the image of him that they intended to portray in the work.

According to the director of the film, Jose Manuel Garcia, the idea was first entitled 'Fidel, Cuba, Revolution,' but based on the interviews with the painters the title of the documentary became Besado por la Patria, as a tribute to Fidel's legacy.

'We wanted to illustrate the testimony of the creative process, gather the experiences and show how the different visions were integrated in a harmonic work,' Garcia said.

The day of filming took place in the El Sauce cultural center on July 30, 2016, and the unveiling of the works took place August 13, to mark the birthday of the Cuban leader, who at the time expressed his deep appreciation and admiration for the aesthetics expressed in them.

Flora Fong, Carlos Guzman, Eduardo Roca (Choco), Juan Moreira, Alicia Leal, Jose Luis Fariñas, Yasbel Perez, Ever Fonseca, Ileana Mulet, Roberto Gonzalez, Eduardo Abela, Alicia de la Campa, Sinecio Cuetara, Li D. Fong, Liang D. Fong and Maykel Herrera participated in the creation of the murals.

The screening of the documentary this Tuesday honors the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution and as painter Herrera said, Cuban artists have his star inscribed on their conscience.
