First ever Senegalese Film Week in Havana announced for October

Dakar, August  25 (RHC)-- Cuban and Senegalese authorities announced Saturady the first-ever Senegalese film week in Havana, to be held from October 23-27.

The announcement was made by Cuban Ambassador in Dakar, Saylin Sanchez Portero, and Hugues Diaz, director of Cinematography of Senegal's Ministry of Culture and Communication, reported Prensa Latina news agency.

With its venue at the Havana Rampa cinema, the event will pay tribute to the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Caribbean nation and Senegal, and the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC).

The visit to Cuba by the Senegalese delegation will allow the two sides to explore the potential for the signing of a collaboration agreement in this sphere and will contribute to the strengthening of the cultural ties between the two nations.
