Havana, September 17 (RHC)-- Design Week takes place in Mexico City from October 3 to 27, chosen as the 2018 World Design Capital among 35 candidate cities -- the first Latin American city ever chosen to host the acclaimed design event.

designweekmexicoFor this eleventh edition, Mexico’s Yucatan has been chosen as guest state and Cuba, as guest country of honor.

In 2017, Switzerland hosted the design event, while in previous years, the tribute fell on such nations as Germany (2016), Italy (2015), United Kingdom (2014) and Brazil (2013) –all of them either highly industrialized or emerging economies, where design is considered a development strategy.
