“Ellas Crean” Festival to be Held in Havana and other Cuban Provinces
Havana, Sep 30 (RHC) The 2013 Cuban Festival “Ellas Crean”, includes film screenings, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, lectures, courses and theater and dance performances.These will will be held at the capital, and the provinces of Cienfuegos, Camaguey and Holguin. In Havana, the festival will take place from October 9th to the 19th .
In an interview with Prensa Latina news agency, Pablo Platas, cultural counselor of the Spanish Embassy in Cuba, said that along with the Cuban Ministry of Culture they intend to portray the female creativity in many fields.
“Ellas Crean” will present a cheerful view of gender issues showing the accomplishments of many women despite obstacles and discrimination. The event was inspired by a festival with the same name held in Spain since 2005.
