Paco de Lucia performs in Cuba after 26-year hiatus

Oct 2, – The famous Flemish Spanish guitar player Paco de Lucia will be performing at Havana´s Karl Marx Theatre on Wednesday October 2nd, as part of the ongoing Leo Brower Chamber Music Festival.
Paco de Lucia has not performed in Havana for the past 26 years and there is high expectation among the Cuban public. The concert forms part of the fifth edition of the Leo Brower Chamber Music Festival.
The theatre is Cuba's largest venue with a seating capacity of more than five thousand.
“Paco is very happy here in Cuba, I can tell,” Leo Brower said during a press conference.
Brower and De Lucia are long time friends, and the famous Cuban componser and guitar player said that is a privilege to have Paco de Lucia as a guest during this festival that was named after him.
Paco de Lucia will also be receiving the Cubadisco 2013 International Award for his work, in another landmark moment of this Chamber Music Festival that began on the 24th of September.
