Santiago sweeps Industriales in Cuban baseball

Havana, November 16 (RHC)-- Santiago de Cuba beat Industriales by a score of 6 to 2 and took the series of the Cuban Baseball season that Matanzas is currently leading with 27 games won and 15 lost.

In the emblematic Latinoamericano stadium, Santiago was relentless and ensured success in the first third of the game when they scored one run in the first and third innings and four in the second.  The victory was won by the right-handed pitcher Yoandri Montero (3-2) and the losing pitcher was right-handed Pavel Hernández (3-5).

After finishing the challenge, the mentor from Santiago Eriberto Rosales said he was satisfied with the performance of his players, whom he congratulated and encouraged to continue working in order to obtain the qualification to the second stage.

Meanwhile, second baseman Santiago Torres said he was encouraged by his performance in the current contest, saying that he will continue to work on improving as an athlete to bring more to the team and asked his fans for confidence.

On his part, the leader Matanzas stopped the winning streak of Las Tunas, by beating them by a score of 8-2 in the Victoria de Giron stadium.
