Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa Given Permission to Participate in Electoral Campaign

Quito, February 7 (RHC)-- The National Assembly of Ecuador gave President Rafael Correa four days to participate in the electoral campaign, as national leader of the movement PAIS.

Acccording to Andes news agency, Correa will join the candidates of his political organization in the last days of campaign, from the 17th to the 20th, with a view to the elections on February 23rd.

Meanwhile, Vice President Jorge Glas will be in charge of the Constitutional Presidency of the Republic of Ecuador

The endorsement of Parliament lies is in compliance with Article 146 of the Constitution, which states that the president can ask the National Assembly for permission to temporarily leave office for up to one month.
