Bridgetown, January 16 (RHC)-- Nearly 100 representatives from Pan-Africanist and socialist organizations in the Caribbean have proclaimed U.S. president Donald Trump Persona Non Grata in the Caribbean, according to Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC).

They said that Trump is not welcome in the Caribbean because of his racist and outrageous comments made last Thursday against African countries, Haiti and El Salvador.

In a statement, the organizations declared that President Donald Trump is Persona Non Grata and confirmed they will petition their governments, and vehemently protest against any Trump visit, engaging in popular demonstrations designed to prevent his entry into any portion of sovereign territories of the Caribbean region.

The proclamation was promoted by the Barbados-based Clement Payne Movement, the Pan-African Coalition of Organizations and the Peoples Empowerment Party.

The Caribbean Media Corporation recalled that people of the region resisted and survived the most horrendous forms of slavery and colonialism.

It stressed that the nations of the region are currently icons in the defense of the dignity and fundamental rights of all blacks and African people.

It added that Caribbean countries support a zero tolerance approach against any manifestation of racism, anti-Black or anti-African discrimination.
