Venezuelan Government Closes Consulates in Netherland Antilles after Fascist Attack

Caracas, Feb 21 (RHC)Following a fascist attack against the Venezuelan consulate in Aruba, foreign minister Elias Jaua said that the Bolivarian government proceeded to close is consular offices in Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire.
“We have been stunned about how far the hatred inoculated by big international tv chains has gone…” Jaua said as he referred to the attack launched against the Venezuelan consulate in the island of Aruba.
The foreign minster said that the Attorney General’s Office was notified about the crime committed by a Venezuelan citizen against the consulate. “We are requesting his deportation so that he is put under the authority of Venezuelan police,” he said.
Jaua said that “as long as Holland is not able to guarantee security in tune with its obligations about the protection and safeguard, the consulates will not be reopened in those islands.
The Venezuelan official said that the measure was taken by the head of state and they are being implemented by the foreign ministry in order to protect the life and integrity of the Venezuelan personnel in those islands.
Jaua called to reflection and to stop the campaign of hatred and intolerance unleashed in Venezuela, which has led the people to confrontation. “I call on Venezuelan families to cure the poison of intolerance and hatred,” he said.
The official noted that over 100 consular delegations from Latin America have expressed Venezuela their support and he expressed his thankfulness to political parties, unions and personalities who have accompanied Venezuelan ambassadors in press conferences.
