Tegucigalpa, February 5 (RHC)-- In Honduras, a delegation of faith leaders from the United States has denounced Washington’s support for Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was inaugurated for a second term despite allegations of widespread voting fraud in the November 26th election.
Rev. Kathleen McTigue of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, spoke to reporters outside the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa. She said: "We call on our United States government to withdraw its recognition of the fraudulently elected government in Honduras. And we demand the investigation and prosecution of both those directly responsible for and those behind the killings during the protests from November 27 until today.”
