Havana, March 1 (RHC) -– The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, the South American country's largest guerrilla group, announced on Friday that three new members have joined their delegation to the ongoing peace talks with the government in Havana.

All obstacles were overcome, and the presence of Commanders Fabian Ramirez, Jairo Martinez and Fidel Rondon in Havana, as new members of the peace delegation of the FARC, is now a reality, the insurgency's statement said.

“The experience and wisdom of the new insurgent spokesmen will be an important contribution to continue the construction of agreements for peace and social justice,” said the guerrilla that is currently debating with the Colombian government the fourth item of the talks agenda, the problem of illegal drugs.

The peace talks, aimed at ending five decades of armed conflict between the government and the armed leftist rebels, began in November 2012.

The two sides have already discussed agrarian reform and land redistribution, as well as the rebels' participation in politics once they disarm.
