Putin: Russia condemns any attempt to change the situation in Venezuela by force

Moscow, December 5 (RHC)--´ Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned attempts to change the political situation in Venezuela through violence and the use of force.

'We support your efforts aimed at achieving mutual understanding in society and all your actions aimed at normalizing relations with the opposition,' the Russian leader told Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro at the beginning of an official meeting in Moscow, Tass news agency reported.

“Certainly, we condemn any terrorism-related steps and any attempts to change the situation using force," the president said.

The last time the two leaders met in the Russian capital was on October 4 last year. On that occasion Maduro participated in the international forum Energy Week of Russia. After the meeting the Venezuelan president declared that his talks with his Russian counterpart were outstanding, and thanked Putin for his political and diplomatic support.
