La Paz, October 12 (RHC)-- Participants at the First Summit on Decolonization and the Fight on Racism, held in La Paz, proposed that Bolivia should become a continental Center for decolonization.
Bolivian minister for Decolonization, Felix Cardenas said that the organization of actions and processes aimed at achieving decolonization and fighting racism would be a major aim of the continental center, which Bolivia would host.
The forum, which was attended by representatives of Ecuador, Argentina, Cuba and Peru, will submit its conclusions to the United Nations, Cardenas said.
Participants also agreed to back Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa’s denunciation of the ecological disaster caused along two million hectares in the Amazon region by inappropriate operations by the Us based Chevron Oil Company.
