Tegucigalpa, October 12 (RHC)--Latin American and Caribbean lawmakers are gathered in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to address regional integration and other issues.

Honduras Libertad and Refundacion Party announced the meeting with the slogan “Parliamentary Meeting for Honduran Democracy.”

The forum will back the presidential candidate for the Libre Party, Xiomara Castro de Zelaya, wife of former president Manuel Zelaya, who was ousted by a military coup in 2009.

Human Rights activist Bertha Oliva has described the current reality as a coup in motion. She said that over the past two months from 10 to 15 citizens have been killed in the country every day.

Yet with less than 45 days are left for general elections in Honduras, presidential candidate Xiomara Castro is the favorite, according to the most recent surveys.
