United Nations, November 26 (RHC)-- The United Nations says greenhouse gas emissions surged to record-high levels last year.  The new report also says that the increase in methane levels in 2018 was the highest increase in the last 20 years.

Methane is an extremely powerful greenhouse gas.   The World Meteorologist Organization’s secretary-general, Petteri Taalas, told reporters: “Last year, we have seen emissions growth continued.  It has been growing for the past two years and the estimate for last year was 2.1 percent increase.  So, despite of Paris agreement, the emissions are still, still growing."
