Caracas, April 21 (RHC) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Venezuela on Monday for a visit that will help strengthen China-Venezuela cooperation ties, El Universal newspaper reports.
The diplomat was welcomed by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elías Jaua, and Xoan Noya, the Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania.
The Chinese foreign minister was expected to hold a meeting later on Monday with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. His visit takes place ahead of the second official tour around Latin America of Chinese President Xi Jingping in July.
