Caracas, May 4 (RHC)-- The Venezuelan Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Monday denouncing before the international community a new mercenary and terrorist aggression, organized from Colombian territory and planned by U.S. agents, against peace, democracy and sovereignty of Venezuela.

This new attack, the communiqué points out, adds to the escalation of aggressive actions and provocations organized by the United States against Venezuela, all of which adds to the incessant wave of hostile declarations by high-ranking U.S. officials.

"The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela holds the governments of Donald Trump and Ivan Duque responsible for the unpredictable and dangerous consequences of this wave of provocations and mercenary aggressions against the Venezuelan people."

The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry has alerted United Nations Secretary General and the Security Council and other UN agencies to the escalating violation of a number of human rights resolutions.

In this regard, Venezuela warned about the use of mercenaries as a means of violating human rights and impeding the exercise of the right of peoples to self-determination.
