Santiago de Chile, August 11 (RHC)-- The spokeswoman for the Mapuche community in Chile, Giovana Tafilo, reported on Tuesday that the state of health of spiritual advisor Celestino Córdova continues to worsen as a result of his 100-day hunger strike.

Tafilo's statements come when in a video, Machi Celestino Cordova expressed: "I am very sorry that I have to give you my last message."

"In my last days that I have left for my sacrifice in a definitive way for what for me will be a pride to give my life for my Mapuche people, for our spiritual belief that is sacred above all things, so it should never be renounced," he said.

Machi Córdova issued a message stating that "I could resume the dry strike at any time," alluding to not receiving traditional medicines for the sake of the Mapuche being heard by the government of Chilean President Sebastián Piñera.

"The time is coming when there will be justice for all the native peoples of the world," said Córdova in his message, adding his demands that the Chilean state return the usurped territories to its people.
