Caracas, September 27 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Minister of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Néstor Reverol, reported the interception of another U.S. plane in national airspace near the border with Colombia.

On the social networks, the high command explained this Sunday that the radars of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) detected an illegal flight in the Venezuelan air space and complying with the defense protocols, they intercepted the plane and proceeded to disable it.

After two days of searching, the damaged aircraft was located on a clandestine runway on the banks of the Catatumbo River, in the south of Lake Maracaibo, near the Colombian-Venezuelan border, reported Reverol.

At the site, he said, 11,000 liters of aviation fuel were found, which would be used for his alleged criminal operations.

The minister ratified the commitment of the FANB to keep the Radars of the Integral Aerospace Defense Command (CODAI) on alert and other strategies to continue the fight against drugs and not allow drug trafficking through the country's air, land or sea space, as well as to protect national sovereignty.

This is the second plane detected violating Venezuelan airspace in recent weeks, which also coincides with a series of confrontations with paramilitaries on the border and the capture of an agent of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Government authorities and diplomats warned in various scenarios that there is a possible concatenation of such events with the continuous attempts of aggression by the United States and Colombia against Venezuela, in search of boycotting the elections of next December 6th.
