UN Reiterates Total Support to Colombian Peace Progress

Bogota, July 10 (PL-RHC) -- UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon says that the United Nations will make all efforts to support the search of a peace agreement in Colombia, during a meeting held with Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin.

According to reports from the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its website, the minister met with the top UN official in New York, after the ministerial segment of the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, convened by the United Nations Economic and Social Council, which the Colombian diplomat attended.

During the dialogue, Ban Ki-Moon reiterated a message of congratulation to President Juan Manuel Santos for his June 9th re-election for a new mandate, which will run until 2018.

The main issue of the ministerial segment in which the Colombian foreign minister participated was focused on 'long-term measures towards the permanent eradication of poverty and reducing inequalities.'
