Venezuelan President Calls for Increased Solidarity with Palestine

Caracas, August 14 (RHC) – Meanwhile, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has called on the international community to increase solidarity with Palestine.

After a meeting with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki, the Venezuelan leader said his government will continue to support Palestine and its determination to be a free and independent country.

The Venezuelan president announced that he will convene the Arab community in the South American nation to create a comprehensive plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip.

Maduro added that Venezuela will always be in favor of the Palestinian cause since it represents the oppressed by "an imperial power."

Venezuela shipped the first 12 tons of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip Tuesday and promotes an active international campaign to denounce the continued attacks by Israel against Palestine. Source: Xinhua
