Buenos Aires, October 15 (RHC) -- The 5th International Film Festival CineMigrante, aimed to reflect on immigrant people’s problems and rights through international films, workshops, and special activities, closed Wednesday at the Centro Cultural de la Cooperación in Buenos Aires.

The festival is a meeting of film makers, actors and migrants who contribute to a rich inter-cultural dialogue. It focussed on promoting integration between different cultures.“The festival gives an opportunity to those voices with problems we don’t pay attention to in everyday life,” said Monica Lairana, actress, film maker and juror at the festival.

The closing night show includes the awards ceremony, the screening of the winning film, the performance of "Los negros de miércoles" band (Black rhythms from Peru) and a toast.

This year, the citizens of Buenos Aires had the opportunity to watch 75 films from 38 countries around the world to compete for a special award.

In this 5th Festival, the audience was able to attend conferences, workshops and a special film section dedicated to Palestine on Tuesday. It was a “retrospective from the 70s up to the present day, exploring the struggle of the Palestinian people, according to Florencia Mazzadi, director of the festival.

CineMigrante is an opportunity to learn migrants' problems and their common dream to go beyond borders to find a better life.
