Tel Aviv, Mar 9, (RHC), – In a harsh comment Sunday, Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman advocated “cutting of the heads” of Arab Israelis who oppose the State of Israel and who support terror.

Speaking at an elections event at the IDC, the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, the head of the nationalist Yisrael Beytenu party said that those [Arabs] who support Israel “should receive everything [in terms of rights]; those against us, it cannot be helped, we must lift up an ax and behead them — otherwise we will not survive here.”

During this election campaign, Liberman has repeatedly called for the death penalty for terrorists

“Arab Israelis who want the destruction of Israel are a fifth column. They shouldn’t get state benefits,” he said.

Liberman once again advocated his plan to spin off Arab areas of Israel and integrate them into a Palestinian state, in exchange for areas of the West Bank that would be annexed to Israel. “There is no reason for Umm el-Fahm to be a part of Israel,” Liberman said, referring to the large Arab city in Wadi Ara.

The foreign minister also reiterated his call for a regional peace agreement with the Palestinians, brokered by moderate Arab states.

Lieberman is quite known for his odd and controversial comments on foreign policy issues, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu designating him as the “embarrassing foreign minister.”
