Buenos Aires, April 21 (teleSUR-RHC)-- On her social media accounts, Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez pointed to a report that suggests a link between late prosecutor Alberto Nisman and Paul Singer, head of one of the hedge funds seeking billions from Argentina’s government.

“We are facing a global modus operandi, which not only harms National Sovereignty but also generates international political operations of any kind,” Fernandez said.

Fernandez, who is in Russia for bilateral meetings, based her posting on a column published Saturday by Jorge Elbaum, former executive director of the Delegation of Argentine Jewish Associations. According to the article, Nisman said he would ask for financial aid from people working for hedge funds in order to stop the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between Argentina and Iran to cooperate in the investigation on the bombing at the Argentine Israeli Mutual Association (AMIA) in 1994.

According to the document published by Elbaum, he alleges that Nisman said in a meeting, “If necessary, Paul Singer will help us.” The text also refers to U.S.-based non-governmental organizations "that act as lobby groups and that are funded by the vulture funds."

The Argentinian government has been fighting a U.S. court decision ordering payment to the vulture fund creditors, who have refused to agree to the terms of Argentina’s debt renegotiation with 93 percent of its creditors.
