Beijing, November 16 (RHC) Chinese president Xi Jinping said that only the socialist system can determine the future of his country based on the economic reforms and the opening efforts underway in Asian nation.
Xi Jinping explained the measures adopted by the Communist Party following a plenary session of the 18th Congress of the Chinese political organization, Xinhua news agency reported.
The Chinese president also said that the reforms and the opening efforts have deeply changed the image of China, its people, the party and have allowed the country to become an important member of the international community.
Xi explained that last April, the Political Bureau of China's Communist Party decided that the reforms would be the main topic of the plenary session and since that moment a group led by him drew up a draft document containing opinions by members of the party and of other organizations.
He said during the drawing up of the draft document, they understood that undertaking deep and comprehensive reforms constituted a strategic mission whose decisive results in key sectors of Chinese society will be achieved by 2020.
He said that the appropriate relationship between the market and the government continues to be the core of the economic reforms, though he noted that the socialist market economy needs the market and needs the government, but in different roles. Allowing the market to decide, does not
mean to decide everything, he stressed.
