Buenos Aires, November 21 (RHC) – Argentine President Cristina Fernandez made her first live appearance since her 45-day long medical leave, in a brief ceremony on Wednesday to take the oath of office to three new ministers.

At the ceremony, which coincided with Argentine Sovereignty Day, Cristina Fernandez addressed a chanting and cheering crowd from an interior balcony.

Praising the mostly young crowd for their militancy and support of years, the president made a couple of references to Sovereignty Day and national industry as an example of the recovered dignity of Argentine work and manufacturing.

She also stressed the need to build a more inclusive Argentina, and called on the opposition to leave aside offenses and join the efforts.

Cristina also called upon the opposition to discuss new policy ideas, and affirmed that “we are ready to hear all new ideas, but more importantly how to implement them too”. Initiatives from the opposition will be given a fair hearing, she added.

Fernandez also praised energy corporation YPF as the company that made the most profit in Argentina, urging other businesses to learn from its example.
