Quito, August 17 (RHC)-- Venezuela will present to the parliament of the Southern Common Market, a community agreement in defense of the Essequibo region, currently under dispute with neighboring Guyana, and will denounce violations of international law and the Geneva Convention in that territory.

The president of the Venezuelan group to the regional legislative body, Saul Ortega, said his country will present a joint project of Bolivarian MPs and opposition, pending a unanimous resolution condemning the pretensions of the Guyanese government and major centers of economic power.

The Ecuadorian delegation to PARLASUR will reportedly denounce the recent violent protests with coup intentions in the country and will expose the political reality of Ecuador and the achievements of the Citizen Revolution and the government of President Rafael Correa.

The parliamentary assembly of the regional bloc comprising Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela and Bolivia is been in session since yesterday in Montevideo, the Uruguayan capital, and should conclude its discussions in plenary on Tuesday.
