Quito, November 26 (RHC), -- Visiting Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa, and his Colombian counterpart, Juan Manuel Santos, pledged on Monday to further co-operation between their countries.

The two leaders vowed to co-ordinate actions in such areas as border security, trade, economy, energy and environment, at the second Bi-national Cabinet Meeting held in the Colombian border city of Ipiales.

The Colombian president said "Ecuador and Colombia are more united than ever", noting that Ecuador's initiative to bring the cabinets of the two countries together "has been very effective".

For his part, Correa congratulated the Colombian leadership for undertaking the peace talks with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebel group and offered the unconditional support of his country and his people to complete this endeavour.
