Buenos Aires, September 21 (RHC)-- In Argentina, the Front for Victory party won the regional elections in the departments of Chaco and Tucumán.

The election outcome coincides with a unanimous ruling by the country's Supreme Court, which reversed a controversial lower court ruling that rejected the August 23rd election outcomes in the province of Tucumán.

The left-wing alliance's candidate Domingo Peppo won the governorship of Tucumán by 13 points over his main rival, outgoing governor Jorge Capitanich of the Partido Justicialista party.

The results of Sunday's regional election are considered a victory for the government of President Cristina Fernández, ahead of general elections, set for October 25th, when Argentineans will elect a new president and vice president as well as dozens of senators and deputies.
