La Paz, October 5 (PL-RHC)-- Bolivian Vice President Alvaro Garcia Linera announced his country will ask delegates attending the World Peoples Conference on Climate Change this week in Cochabamba to individually defend Mother Earth.

"When we attend the world summit, we must demand a personal defense of Mother Earth," stated García Linera, according to a report by the Bolivian Information Agency (ABI).

The 2nd World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Defense of Life will welcome some 8,000 delegates from more than 40 countries from all continents from October 10 to 12 in Tiquipaya.

Garcia Linera noted the initiative will be launched in a direct reference to the transnationals in North America and Europe which are indiscriminately destroying the planet.

This debate must be taken to the congress because the same way we talk about economy, per capita income and say a developed country is a country that has more money, an environmental friendly country is that which takes care of more trees per person, he stated.
