Buenos Aires, October 8 (RHC)-- President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner headed the opening ceremony of the Dr. René Favaloro Hospital in the Buenos Aires province locality of La Matanza, the Buenos Aires Herald reported on Wednesday.

In a speech she delivered and broadcast live on national television, the head of state said: “When one decides to grab the flag of the people and the nation, the road usually becomes harder but at the end, there is always the eternal recognition of the people.”

She warned that to rule the country “you must know that when the interests of the majority are defended, not only those from poor people, but those from middle classes and small businessmen, the corporative groups react.”

The Argentinean president endorsed the economic perspectives for the country released this week by the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), which forecast a 1.6 percent growth for this year and for 2016. “This is the only country of Latin America that will grow” adding “forecasts were negative but international agencies are now showing positive perspectives.”

Cristina Fernandez was joined by Buenos Aires province outgoing governor and Victory Front (FpV) presidential candidate Daniel Scioli, La Matanza mayor and FpV candidate to BA province deputy governor Fernando Espinoza among other political, union and social leaders.
