Havana, October 10 (RHC)-- People around the world are continuing to pay homage to the Heroic Guerrilla, Ernesto Che Guevara, despite the fact that he was killed in Bolivia 48 years ago.

In the Bolivian city of Vallegrande, hundreds of pilgrims made their annual trek to the site where the legendary revolutionary fighter was killed on October 9, 1967. Attending the ceremonies were Bolivian President Evo Morales and the Cuban Five, along with Orlando Cardoso, another Cuban Hero, who were visiting Bolivia this past week.

An activity was held at the University of Panama in Panama City with the participation of Cuban Ambassador Antonio Pardo. During a talk with students, professors and activists at the Panamanian university, Pardo spoke about the thinking of Ernesto Guevara de la Serna.

Other commemorations were held throughout the world, as activists and political leaders gathered to pay tribute to the revolutionary thinker and fighter who was killed by Bolivian troops with the help of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in October 1967.
