Antigua and Barbuda Thanks Maduro for Program to Restore Sight

St. John's, Oct. 17 (teleSUR-RHC) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrived in Antigua and Barbuda on Friday, where the islands’ Prime Minister Gaston Browne thanked the visitor for a project to tackle blindness.

Brown said Mission Miracle “is a program from which a great number of people have benefited with eye surgeries, that were able to improve their sight, and in many cases, recover their sight. This initiative has contributed to an improvement in the quality of life for these people.” 

The prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda indicated that in a meeting this Friday they will discuss further areas of cooperation.

“I am sure that the meeting tonight will conclude with a great number of interesting initiative for the mutual benefit of both countries,” he said. “We hope that this will be one of many visits, because we aspire to strengthen the relations between both countries.” 

Maduro said that “the spirit of Mission Miracle is to construct a humane motherland, a better world, a new world that overcomes selfishness, evil, stinginess.”
