Bogotá Plane Crash Kills 5, Injures 15

Bogotá, October 19 (teleSUR-RHC)-- Colombian authorities are investigating a small plane crash in a residential zone in Bogotá on Sunday, which killed five people and injured at least 15.

The crash happened early morning in the Villa Luz neighborhood, not far from El Dorado international airport, where the Beechcraft 60 recently took off, bound for Guaymaral. 

At statement from the mayor’s office said all three passengers and the pilot had been killed. Captain Juan Pablo Angulo Reyes and owner of the plane Jose Alberto Olivares were among the dead.

"So far there have been seven people injured who are being treated in hospital," the statement added. 

According to Noticias Uno, former Colombian President Andres Pastrana, former Minister Marta Lucia Ramirez, and former peace commissioner Camilo Gomez were due to take the same plane to travel to Girardot to close the campaign of conservative Cundinamarca candidate Nancy Patricia Gutierrez.

According to Aerocivil air authority, “Accident Investigation personnel will go to the point of impact to determine the causes of the accident.”
