Moscow, December 21 (RHC)-- Moscow's counterespionage services have exposed 320 foreign spies and agents operating in the country in 2015, says Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"We see that intelligence services of some countries are intensifying their efforts" focused on Russia, said Putin while addressing the Russian intelligence community members over the weekend, on the eve of the Secret Services Workers' Day.

Putin stressed that his country is ready to "provide an adequate response" to foreign intelligence services and those who work for them. While noting that he expects Russian security services to also efficiently battle corruption and fraud and guard the country's borders, he stated that they should also collaborate with the military to "boost the capabilities of our armed forces."

He added that Russia's security services had recently foiled 30 terrorism-related plots in the country and called for special attention to be paid to finding and stopping terrorist recruiters and agents who target the nation's youth.

Apart from the FSB, Russia's security services include Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Chief Intelligence Directorate (GRU), Border Guard Service (FPS), Federal Guard Service of the Russian Federation (FSO) and Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) along with several other agencies.
