Guatemala City, January 21 (RHC)-- The Central American governments involved in working out a solution to the current situation of Cuban migrants stranded in Costa Rica have set February 4th as the date to transfer the second group who, encouraged by Washington's arbitrary migration policy towards Cuba, are trying to reach U.S. soil.

During a meeting held Wednesday at the headquarters of the Guatemalan Foreign Ministry to evaluate the results of the pilot plan and give continuity to the strategy, the participating representatives of the regional governments decided to repeat the experience with the first group of migrants, whose transfer took place on January 12th and 13th.

The first group of 180 Cubans, out of a total of more than 7000, were flown from Costa Rica to El Salvador, then, they were transferred by bus to Guatemala and later to Mexico. Participants in Wednesday's meeting in Guatemala confirmed that the International Organization for Migration has accompanied the whole transfer process.
