San Salvador, December 13 (RHC)-- Medical doctors graduated in Cuba accused the Salvadorian Medical Association of manipulating a conflict between graduates from local universities and those coming from the Havana-based Latin American School of Medicine.
The doctors accused the board of directors of the association of promoting confrontation and division within its membership.
They also blasted the double-standard position of that institution as it yielded to the political interests linked to the presidential campaign to take place in February in El Salvador.
The doctors graduated from local universities were pushed to fight for the jobs; they were politically manipulated, said Alex Guillermo Martinez, who graduated in Havana.
For several days now, Salvadorian doctors graduated from local universities called a stoppage and blocked access to nearly 400 doctors graduated in Cuba who were to take examinations in different medical centers. They accused the Health Ministry of privileging the doctors coming from Cuba.
The conflict was solved by the health ministry which found an accord between the two parties to take examinations at the University of El Salvador on equal grounds for all graduates.
