Caracas, March 7 (RHC)-- The Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) has rejected the renewal of a decree that US President Barack Obama signed against Venezuela, falsely accusing the South American nation  of being a threat to U.S. National security.

The UNASUR stresses that the U.S. decision ignores Venezuela's democratic institutions, and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

The U.S. executive decree was first signed in 2015 and has now been extended on March 3 for another twelve months.
