Santiago de Chile, Mar 31 (RHC) The Regional Office of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, with offices in Chile, deplores the loss or waste of food in Latin America and the Caribbean, in volumes able to meet the needs of 36 million people.

The FAO report warns that the alarming figure should be halved to meet the UN Millennium Goals for Sustainable Development, with deadline in 2030, since daily food waste in the region rounds 348,000 tones.
