Washington, April 19 (RHC)-- More than 300 people were arrested Monday in Washington, D.C., in a mass civil disobedience to protest against the influence of big money and corporate lobbying in U.S. politics.

The demonstration, dubbed "Democracy Awakening," caps a week of massive protests in which about 1,200 people were arrested in total.

The Democracy Spring movement protesters called on U.S. lawmakers to take serious measures to reduce the influence of money in politics, expand and protect voting rights, and ensure equal voice for all Americans in the U.S. government.
