Havana, January 13 (RHC)-- Cuban Parliament President Esteban Lazo inaugurated a scale model of the city of Trinidad, in central Sancti Spiritus province, as part of commemorations for the 500th anniversary of the founding of the old villa.

During the celebrations, held on Sunday, architect Alicia Garcia said that the scale model offers visitors detailed information about the city. The model, which now has 56 blocks of the city, will be finished later this year with a total 90 blocks of the old section of the town.

On Saturday, government Vice President Adell Izquierdo inaugurated the library that treasures documents related to the patrimony of the city and the famous Valley of the Sugar Mills, which will allow research studies on historic events linked to the two emblematic sites.

Trinidad was the third villa founded by the Spaniards in Cuba.
