More than 50 People Injured in Eastern Cuba Road Accident

Havana, 20 March (RHC\Xinhua) - At least 55 people were injured in a major traffic accident outside the city of Bayamo in eastern Cuba.
The accident happened Sunday morning when the driver of a passenger bus lost control of the vehicle and careened into several trees, as he traveled from Santiago de Cuba, the country's second largest city, to Nuevita, in the north of the island.
A large number of passengers were injured, two critically, and were taken to the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes provincial hospital for treatment. Six children were also involved in the accident, including an 18-month-old baby, and five elderly people.
