Havana, February 4 (RHC)-- Nearly 50 researchers from Mexico, Ecuador and Cuba are holding the 7th International Conference on the Cultural Heritage of Ibero-American Nations in the eastern Cuban city of Bayamo.

The conference's agenda includes lectures on the preservation of the built stock as social responsibility, as well as workshops on museum collections and theoretical experiences on educational campaigns and programs to favor the preservation of the local heritage.

The issues under debate are related to anthropology, archeology, cultural diversity and the people's impact on the conservation of heritage sites.

Participants at the event are scheduled to visit archaeological sites in Bayamo, which includes ancient caves used for funerals and rituals by the native peoples.
