Havana, September 23 (RHC) – A shipment of Venezuelan aid meant for the recovery effort in Cuba following Hurricane Irma arrived in Mariel Harbor, west of Havana, on Friday.

The solidarity cargo was received at the harbor by presidents Nicolas Maduro and Raul Castro. Maduro had traveled to Havana to personally present the aid.

The people of Cuba should know that our solidarity is a true one, said Maduro, who noted that more recovery aid from Venezuela will be forthcoming.

The Venezuelan cargo donated to Cuba's hurricane recovery effort included construction material, power generators, mattresses, planks, and other items.

Venezuela was the first nation to send recovery aid to Cuba following Hurricane Irma. This was the second donation of goods by Venezuela.
