Zambian Leader Receives Vice President of Cuban Friendship Institute

Lusaka, February 15 (RHC)-- The historic leader of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda, received the vice president of the Cuban Friendship Institute Alicia Corredera, who is paying a brief visit to that African country.

Corredera briefed Kaunda about the work of the Friendship Institute this year and about the 3rd World Encounter in Solidarity with Cuba, to take place October 27th to the 31st in Havana. She expressed the willingness by her institution to analyze with the Zambian government the possibility to hold the 6th Regional African Forum in Solidarity with Cuba in Zambia, where the presence of Kaunda would be very significant.

Meanwhile, Kaunda expressed his desire to attend the Havana Solidarity Forum and said that if he can't be there, his daughter Cheswa Kaunda would attend the meeting and would take a message in support of the Cuban Revolution.

As for the regional African Forum, the Zambian leader said he will give all his support to hold the event in Lusaka and added that it would be his great honor to take part at the meeting.
