Havana, December 23 (RHC), -- The first photo-voltaic solar farm in Cuba, with the use of pile driving technology, has been synchronized with the National Electric Power System.

According to specialized sources of the Electricity Company in the Cuban province of Sancti Spíritus, in one year of operations this center will obtain approximately 6,600 mega-watt-hours of electricity, which will mean a saving of more than 1,700 tons of fuel.

Built without concrete, it has 800 platforms that support more than 17 thousand panels, and will avoid the emission of 5,600 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
