Cuban journalists congress gets underway

Havana, July 13 (RHC)-- The 10th Congress of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) is underway in the Cuban capital.

The two-day event is being attended by some 400 delegates hailing from media outlets island-wide.
 
Top on the congress agenda is the discussion of the island´s Communications Policy, as well as the organization´s functioning, ethics and communications, media aggression against Cuba, innovation and new technologies, as well as content management.
 
In addition, the delegates will elect the president of the association and approve the work plan for the next five years.
 
The congress is dedicated to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro; to the 55th anniversary of the UPEC (founded on July 15, 1963); and Antonio Moltó, former president of the association who died in August last year.
