Cuban and Colombian foreign ministers meet in Havana

Havana, July 30 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez received his Colombian counterpart, María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar, who visited Havana over the weekend to meet with representatives of the National Liberation Army (ELN).

The head of the team of Cuban Guarantors, Iván Mora Godoy, told the press that during the meeting the ministers exchanged about the peace dialogues between the Colombian government and the ELN which are being held in the Cuban capital.

The Colombian top diplomat was accompanied on her visit by her country´s High Commissioner for Peace, Rodrigo Rivera, as well as other personalities involved in the talks.

This is the last time that ELN and representatives from the government of President Juan Manuel Santos meet, as his term officially ends on August 7th. The ELN also said that they will be "awaiting the delegates of the government of President Duque."

In a statement, they also demanded that "the State assumes its commitment to neutralize the continued and growing murder of social leaders."
