Representatives of Diplomatic Corps Sign Condolence Book on Death of Heroine Melba Hernandez

Havana, March 13 (RHC)-- Foreign diplomats accredited in Cuba signed the condolence book created on the passing of Cuban Heroine Melba Hernández.

In statements to the press, the Ambassador of Vietnam, Duong Minh, stressed that the death of Melba constitutes an irreparable loss for Cuba and the Asian nation as well. He added that her example will continue to guide new generations of Cuban revolutionaries towards preserving the Revolution's conquests and building a more just society.

Edgar González, Business Attache of the Venezuelan Embassy, said that Melba symbolized the dignity and perseverence that have always characterized Cuban and Latin American women.

Melba Hernández Rodríguez del Rey participated in the first armed action led by Fidel Castro against the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship –- the attack on the Moncada Garrison in July 1953.
