Havana, November 16 (RHC)-- Cuba will close 2018 with the record number of 4 million 750 foreign visitors, Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero has announced.

Addressing delegates to a national meeting of tourism workers, Marrero offered details information on the sector's situation and future prospects.

He said the new record high takes place despite measures by the current U.S. administration to further restrict travel by U.S. citizens to the neighboring Caribbean state and the slander campaign against Cuba in the mainstream media, following the passage of Hurricane Irma.

He noted that despite the anti-Cuba measures by the Trump Administration, by October last, little over 700 thousand foreign tourists had come to Cuba on cruise ships, mainly from the United States and Europe.
